Types of Reiki
As with any popular healing system, variants of original reiki system have developed over time.
Most of these new systems derive directly from original Usui reiki system with some additional 'attunements' and 'symbols' thrown in.
Yet, there are some other esoteric 'reiki' systems which are claimed by their founders as the original reiki system and sometimes as even better than the original!

With so many variants out there, it indeed becomes a difficult task for the wannbe healer to chose the real one.
What would one do in this situation if one wants to learn real reiki?
My answer is, trust your instinct, trust your gut feelings. Orginal reiki teachings have already passed several lineages and been diluted with each individual teacher's own interpretation, beliefs and dogmas.
You dont find pure and core teachings anywhere now.
So the best option is to find a teacher who instictively appeals to you, learn the basics, practice, apply, experiment. Essences will be revealed to you in due course of time.
Of course do some background check to be sure that you are not being taken in by a 'snake oil merchant'!

Tummo & Kundalini are the same
now GTummo is the yoga version of it and brings up the same 'fire' as Tummo ReikI & Kundalini Reiki. I've been noticing tho that, with the yoga version, it takes longer to do so. The Reiki version, tho quicker, is not at all harmful as it is still a slow awakening which is preferrable.

Sheesh! I had no idea there were so many different types. From my limited experience I think everyone's reiki is different though. I am sure I practice it different to how my teacher does. I think it's natural that we tailor how we heal with it to our own personalities and strengths, for example I find that I am using crystals more and more whilst I do healing both on chakras and in grids round the receiver and even letting them hold crystals to expand their auras (amethyst and citrine) etc etc. Bringing my own indivuality to the healing I do is certainly much more satisfying than sticking with only one method and it makes it more fun and interesting too.
