Reiki Symbols for Attunements and Healing
What are the reiki symbols?
The Reiki symbols are the keys that open doors to a higher self.
When a reiki master/practitioner draws, thinks about or visualizes a symbol it will instantly connect to the energy it represents.
The first reiki symbol is Cho Ku Rei
(Choku Rei is pronounced as "Cho-Koo-Ray") or power symbol. This symbol represents the body. This symbol is used to amplify reiki energy.

Horizontal line represents the source of the energy.
Middle line represents the flow of the energy and the spiral lines represent the concentration of the energy.
This symbol is also used to eliminate negative energy.
This symbol may be drawn clockwise or anticlockwise.
The second reiki symbol is Sei He Ki(pronounced as: "Say-Hay-Key") or The Mental/Emotional symbol.
This symbol represents the mind.
Many physical problems have their roots in the depths of our subconscious mind. This symbol is used to focus and harmonize the subconscious mind with our physical side.

The second reiki symbol also represents the yin and yang.
The left part of the symbol represents Yang and our left side of the brain (logic, structure and linear thinking etc.)
The right side of the symbol represents Yin and our right side of the brain (fantasy, feelings, intuition etc.)
The third reiki symbol Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen(pronounced as: "Hon-Sha-Zee-Show-Nen") or the distant healing symbol.
This symbol represents spirit and operates irrespective of time and space.

Reiki can be send anywhere - be it present, past or future - with the help of this symbol.
Use of this symbol gives access to the "Akashic Records", the life records of each soul and can therefore be used to heal our karmic debts.
This symbol is derived from Japanese Kanji and represents the human body with chakras and the five elements.
The fourth reiki symbol Dai Ko Myo(pronounced as: dye-ko-me-o) or the master symbol.
This symbol is used for passing attunements.
It is the most powerful symbol in the Reiki group. Only Reiki Masters can use it.
This symbol is used to heal the soul.
Proper use of these reiki symbols bring profound changes in one's life.
Symbols
They do differ just as handwriting differs. For instance how I write the letter g may be different from how you write it, yet it is still a letter g.
However, in this article, there is a fundamental error in the first symbol. Further, these symbols are sacred and anyone shown them agrees not to show/discuss them with anyone else except than other Reiki practitioners of a similar level. I am disappointed and upset by the irreverence demonstrated by books and articles such as this one.

Can anyone tell me if any of the symbols are connected to any of the Hindu Gods or are they just words.of impowerment how does this fit into christianity and Islam.I know they say that Reiki has no religion but looks like it is bound more to Hinduism
Hindu Symbols
No they are not Hindu or associated with the Hindu Gods. Usui was Buddhist.
